Terms

Last updated: 25 October 2026. These terms cover staypacket.com and the log at app.staypacket.com. The privacy page describes what is stored.

What StayPacket is

StayPacket is a record of hours, stays, and people for a U.S. short-term rental, with the property-local date and the server time each row was created. Totals are sums of what you entered. The log does not decide whether you materially participate, whether a loss is nonpassive, or what belongs on a return.

Using StayPacket does not make StayPacket your CPA, attorney, or paid preparer. You are responsible for the rows you enter and for your own return.

Your records

The rows you enter are yours. You can download the ledger while the account is open. An edit adds a new hour row and leaves the old row in the trail. The work date stays. The server create-time is the time that row was stored.

A share link you create lets the person who has it open that year’s packet until you revoke the link, it expires, or the server copy is deleted. A copy they already saved stays with them.

Your account

Sign-in is an email link. There is no password. You are responsible for that inbox and for use of the account after you open the link. The service is for adults keeping their own records.

How long the server copy stays

The server copy stays while the account is active. If payment later stops, the account is read-only for 90 days. You can open and download the ledger. You cannot add rows. After that window StayPacket deletes the server copy. The file you downloaded is yours to keep.

Billing

The price on the price page is $99 for a year, or $12 for a month. Signing in does not charge you. New rows stay closed until a payment is active. Payment is the button on that page. A year plan renews each year. A month plan renews each month. Cancel before the next charge and that charge does not run. The current period is not refunded. After cancel, the account is read-only for 90 days, as described above.

The public site

Sample figures on the homepage and the sample packet are illustrations. They are not your records and not IRS forms.

Use of the service

Do not break into another account, scrape the service, or send anything that interrupts it. StayPacket may close an account that is used that way.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The log you already stored is still described by the retention rule above.
